No matter how large or small, leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful way to make a positive difference well beyond your lifetime.
Your legacy can change the future for generations of talented young people, who are trying to access a better future and break the cycle of intergenerational disadvantage.
Every gift to First Foundation has the power to change a young person’s life.
Step 1:
Decide the type of gift you want to leave

Residual: You can make a gift of the remainder, or a percentage of the remainder, of your estate once your loved ones and whānau been taken care of.

Specific: You can make a specific bequest by simply stating the dollar amount in your Will that you wish to leave to First Foundation.

Asset: You may wish to make a gift of a specific asset, such as real estate, shares, or an item of particular value.

Step 2:
Update or make your Will
It is important to seek legal advice before writing or updating your Will. To add your chosen gift to First Foundation to your existing Will, here is some suggested wording to provide your solicitor.

Let people know about your amazing gift

If we are informed, it allows us to acknowledge your generosity and keep you informed about how your future gift will make a difference, creating a deeper connection between you and the important work you are helping to support.
We encourage you to let your loved ones and whānau know about your decision to leave a gift in your Will to ensure that your wishes are clearly understood and honoured.
