Few people understand the power of this scholarship better than those who have lived it

As a First Foundation alum, you know what it means to have someone back your future.

The financial support that helped make university possible. The mentor who helped you navigate what came next. The work experience that opened doors, built confidence, and connected study to a career.

An alumni giving circle brings a group of alumni together to fund that same four-year scholarship journey for another young person. You might come together as a cohort, an industry group, a regional network, or simply as alumni who want to give back. By sharing the commitment, each person contributes at a level that works for them — and together, you make one full scholarship possible.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Right now, somewhere in Aotearoa, a young person is at the start of the same path.

An alumni giving circle is how a group of you make sure they get through too — same programme, same four years, in your circle’s name. Five, ten, fifteen of you, pooling contributions to fully fund one scholarship together.

COLLECTIVE GIVING

By sharing the commitment, each person contributes at a level that works for them — and together, you make scholarships possible for more of our young people.

Your group names the circle, meets the scholar, and follows their journey over four years. By the time they walk across that stage, they’ve done what you did — and you helped make it possible.

“Philanthropy isn’t reserved for the wealthy. It’s about shared vision and collective action.

For each of us, it’s the price of a few cups of coffee, and once the payment is set up, it just keeps going and you forget about it.”

FABULOUS LADIES GIVING CIRCLE

Why collective giving works?

A full First Foundation scholarship costs $28,000 over four years ($7,000 per year). For one person, that can be a big commitment.
For a group, it becomes accessible — and the journey is shared.

180+

scholars met every criterion last year. We could only fund half. An alumni giving circle is how a group of you closes that gap — together.
