The need for your support

Each year, the demand for First Foundation’s support increases.

Despite the talent and potential of young people from diverse backgrounds, not all are given the same opportunities to succeed.

1 in 8 children in New Zealand live in a households experiencing material hardship. Only 25% of students from low decile schools pursue tertiary education.

Education is a powerful change agent, and First Foundation’s mission is to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty and disadvantage. The average household income of our scholars is $59,000, with an average of 5.5 people per household.

Last year, we turned away 7 out of 8 deserving applicants.

That’s over 600 capable young people from across New Zealand who miss out on pursuing their dreams due to a lack of resources, networks, and opportunities. That’s just in one year.

Your donation can change all that.

For Aotearoa New Zealand to thrive, we must tap into the full potential of our culturally rich and diverse population.
