Networking event a boost for scholars and supporters

Relationships with partners and mentors are a vital part of the First Foundation programme, helping scholars get the support they need and build the professional networks that so often lead to career opportunities.

We recently held networking events for our scholars, partners and mentors in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch, with video footage streamed across Aotearoa.

The events featured guest speakers including prominent economist and former First Foundation scholar Brad Olsen, TVNZ host Indira Stewart, and Jo Kelly from The Kelliher Charitable Trust, which has supported five scholars since 2014.

Check out these photos and a short video of highlights from the event.

“You can throw all the money you like into education… but if you don’t wrap the support around those people, and encourage them and give them what else they need, then you’re only going maybe halfway on the journey to helping them.”
