Described as "an above average student, who is capable of
excellent work," Lee achieved great results early on in high school
and in 2005 she was the recipient of the Pasifika Science
Scholarship. Being proactive in giving back to the College she was
involved as a leader in the Cultural Group, Kapa Haka, Student
Council and Peer Mediation. Her talent for Netball combined with
her leadership skills also saw her coaching younger teams.
When it came to leaving high school, Lee had both the determination
and desire to be the first in her family to study at a tertiary
level. Initially enrolling in Physiotherapy, Lee made a subsequent
decision to pursue a Diploma in Massage Therapy through the
Canterbury College of Natural Medicine. She remembers feeling
encouraged by the understanding and support which her Mentor Lucy
Taylor, the team at First Foundation and Unimed showed her. Lee
graduated in June 2011 and is now intertwining the business
knowledge, which she gained through Unimed, with her qualification
and working at building her own practice and cliental.
