Lana is a student who is full of initiative, and as
conscientious as she is bright and positive. She maintains a
reputation as a determined and keen learner, who has been awarded a
list of diverse prizes at Mangere College. Lana passed NCEA Level 1
with an Excellence endorsement and finished her Yr 11 with awards
for high level punctuality and attendance. "By nature a quiet
student, she makes positive contributions and shows initiative,"
said her Yr 12 Dean about Lana. In 2010 Lana also won a Healthcare
Heroes Scholarship for excelling in Science.
Lana actively participated in improving conditions for her peers
at school through her involvement on the Student Council and as a
committed school librarian. Lana also represented her school in
netball and basketball.
Lana has her sights on studying to become a Civil Engineer.
At the 2011 Auckland Awards evening Cara Scott, Learning &
Development Manager for Fletcher Engineering publically
acknowledged Lana's potential; "Lana is a highly motivated,
conscientious young lady with a great drive to achieve her goals of
become an Engineer."
She completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the
University of Auckland and is currently a graduate Civil Engineer
at Fletcher Construction.
