HEAD GIRL, 2009
Alongside her love for the range of Sciences, Kate also has
natural ability in the Performing Arts and at school this talent
was highlighted when she played the lead role in the school's
production of Cabaret. She was awarded the prize for Most
Outstanding Performance. Over and above her talents in the Arts and
Sciences, Kate displayed leadership qualities at Linwood College
and was involved in several outreach committees.
In everything that Kate sets her mind to, she sets high
standards for herself. Both Linwood College's Assistant Principal
and Tony Harris at Westpac picked up on Kate's positive approach to
education and extra-curricular life. At the time that she was
awarded at First Foundation Scholarship, Tony declared that Kate
fitted well with Westpac's view of "making the most of life".
She completed a Bachelor of Science, with a focus on Biology
from The University of Canterbury and in 2017 embarked on a Masters
in Science Communication, specifically science and natural history
filmmaking at the University of Otago.
Kate is starting a new adventure into her dream career. She is
starting her own business in conjunction with Vet Clinics in
Christchurch where she does dog physiotherapy and
rehabilitation.
