An academically sound and focused young woman, Janet has
prominent ambitions to work as a health professional. "She is
always willing to help others and has a strong work ethic...Janet
has immense potential" said her Yr 12 Dean.
Despite a passion for the sciences, Janet's talents also earned
her success in subjects such as Visual Arts and Graphics in her Yr
11, proving her a well-balanced student. In her Yr 11 Janet got
Academic Excellence awards for almost all of her subjects. In her
Yr 12 she received an Onehunga High School Scholarship for passing
NCEA Level 1 with a grade point average of 97% and endorsed with
Excellence.
Alongside her studies Janet's other passion is Table Tennis. She
has been highly committed to initiating and organising a team to
play competitively representing her school.
Personal experiences with short-sightedness compel her to become an
Optometrist in the future and to contribute to research in
eye-disease. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of
Optometry and Vision Science at The University of
Auckland which she will complete in 2017
