At school Eileen was noted by her Principal as "an outstanding
all-round achiever and leader, who thrives on a challenge and
pushes herself to excel in all undertakings." Coming 1st in Yr 11
Art, Human Biology and Mathematics meant that she was also awarded
the Weller Memorial Trophy for Top Yr 11 Student.
On being selected for a First Foundation scholarship, Geoff
Officer, General Manager of People and Performance at Westpac said
of this excellent student: "She will be a great asset to Westpac as
she has the traits of someone who aspires to achieve great things
in life."
Eileen's passion for tertiary study and a career in either
Biological Sciences or Animal Welfare led her to study at The
University of Auckland towards a Bachelor of Science majoring in
Ecology (Biological Sciences). She graduated in 2011 and has gone
onto complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Science
(Biosecurity and Conservation) with Merit in 2012 and a
Masters in Science with First Class Honours in 2013.
Eileen is currently working at the Ministry for Primary
Industries as a Quarantine Inspector.
