Desiree was an outstanding all-rounder at school. While
she admits that back then computing was not her forte, in recent
years she has developed a different opinion towards IT. Giving her
the opportunity to get an inside view of an international company,
Westpac took Desiree on as their 2004 Scholar. Now having worked in
both their Sponsorship and Corporate Affairs team and their
Communications team, Desiree is "grateful to Westpac for exposing
me to much needed communication skills and people skills."
Desiree decided to study for a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in
Information Systems and Operations Management through The
University of Auckland. "To be studying an IT major and loving it,
just goes to show that anything is possible if you have passion,"
she states. She graduated in 2009.
Having completed her scholarship, Desiree's strong relationship
with Westpac continued where she worked in various roles before
moving to FTA Food Solutions.
Desiree is also a current First Foundation mentor.
