Daniel is described by his school as being " a well- grounded,
respectful, self-motivated young man who approaches life with a
smile and is dedicated to succeed".
Daniel has also developed sound leadership skills over the 12
years that he has been a Venturer in the New Zealand Scouts.
When considering the award of this scholarship, John and Leonie
Hynds stated that they were looking for a candidate who was
entrepreneurial, passionate about their career path, ambitious, had
a strong academic record and the potential to really give back to
New Zealand through their training. Daniel impressed them during
the interview, particularly as he displayed an obvious passion and
enthusiasm for his preferred career path and had already received
recognition for previous endeavours in the IT field.
As well as intending to study computer engineering / computer
coding and software development at university, Daniel is planning
one day in the future to publish his first novel, which heis
currently writing.
