Niue language Week

Why have you decided to pursue a career in Civil Engineering?
I want to be able to give back, in somewhat way to my community in Niue. I see that it's a place that needs to be rejuvenated and their houses have been poorly built. Some have also been ruined by recent storms as well. I would like to be able to provide my services to help restore these buildings.

How was your recent trip to Niue?
Recently I visited my family in Niue and got to spend time with my family. I was visiting to celebrate one of my family members birthdays.

What do you enjoy about your first year at University?
I'm really enjoying staying in the Halls of Residence. The convenience of living close to University and the opportunities I have received by living there have been beneficial in my progress this year. I would highly recommend others to stay in the Halls of Residence.

What are some tips you would recommend to others wanting to study engineering?
First tip would be for students to focus a lot on their exams as you don't get a second chance. There are no resubmissions like high school. Second tip, enjoy these upcoming holidays and being a Year 13 this year. You will never get this again, so enjoy it while it lasts.
